Spring Migration Talk on 3/2

A staff member of the Black Swamp Bird Observatory will go over the importance of Northwest Ohio during bird migration.  They will also talk about birds you can see in Ohio and how you can help them.

The gorgeous bird pictured below is a male Baltimore Oriole. You can attract these birds to your yard by offering some of their favorite things:

  • In mid-April and May set out fresh fruit. They love sliced grapes and oranges.
  • Offer a sugar & water mixture - 6 parts water to 1 part white sugar. AVOID mixtures that contain orange or red dyes!
  • Grape jelly can be offered, in limited amounts.
