May 25th Tributes in Sylvania
Sylvania’s Memorial Day events on Monday, May 25, 2026, feature one of the largest commemorations in Northwest Ohio. The morning consists of three main events: a memorial service at Toledo Memorial Park, the community parade through downtown, and a concluding tribute at Veterans Memorial Park.
Memorial Service & "Sea of Flags" - 9am - 10am
Location: Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe Street.
Details: The day begins with a solemn tribute honoring nearly 15,000 local veterans laid to rest here, featuring the placement of the Sea of Flags.
Memorial Day Parade - 10:15am - 11am
Starting Point: St. Joseph Parish (East Parking Lot), 5373 Main Street.
Route: The procession moves north on Main Street, west on Monroe Street, north on Judi Young Lane, west on Maplewood Avenue, north on Phillips Avenue, west on Erie Street, and north on Garden Park Drive, ending at Veterans Memorial Park.
Veterans Memorial Park Ceremony - 11am
Location: Veterans Memorial Park (Garden Park Drive).
Details: Immediately following the parade, the community gathers for the official Memorial Day ceremony. City of Sylvania Mayor Mark Frye acts as the Master of Ceremonies to pay tribute to fallen service members.
