Learn About Wetlands

Bring your teens (grades 6-12) to Sylvan Prairie for a hands-on activity to learn about our area wetlands.

Wetlands in the Lake Erie area act as crucial natural filters and sponges, absorbing excess nutrients. Though only 5% of historic coastal wetlands remain in the western basin, significant, highly-restored preserves offer excellent birding, hiking, and wildlife viewing opportunities across the region.

After learning all about wetlands, make sure to visit some of our area's wetland areas.
